FrontierVille Mission: The Rodeo and Horse Racing!

It's finally time to take a seat on a more serious saddle in FrontierVille, as Zynga has released the Rodeo Goals to the game. In this series of four Goals, players will have lots to do on Horseback, so make sure you've already completed the Horse Corral Goals before getting into these. (In fact, these might not even appear to those who haven't completed those prior Goals.) At any rate, here is everything you need to know to complete the Rodeo Goals.

Part I:   Saddle Up!

  -  Tend 25 Animals on Horseback
  -  Plant 20 Corn

  -  Harvest 20 Apples

Considering there have already been Goals in which you complete tasks on Horseback, we'll jump right ahead. Planting 20 Corn will cost you 4,500 Coins, while Apple Trees go for 800 Coins a piece, if you don't already have a few. Completing this Goal rewards players with 250 Coins, 250 XP and a Sugar Cube.

Part II:   A Mysterious Stranger!

  -  Clobber 3 Gophers on horseback
  -  Clear 10 Grass (yours or a neighbor's)
  -  Have 10 Rodeo Posters

The only tips we can give for this Goal would be to not harvest that planted Corn until you take on this Goal. Groundhogs are found by harvesting crops, and Corn just so happens to be one of their favorites. The 10 Rodeo Posters are sourced from friends through the Goal menu. Finish these simple tasks and you will score another 250 XP, 250 Coins and a Carrot Treat.

Part III:   How 'Bout Them Cowgirls?

  -  Collect 10 Go Bess Go Flags
  -  Harvest 20 Flax
  -  Mix a Concoction

The "Go Bess Go" Flags are found through even more help requests from friends. Harvesting 20 Flax will cost 3,000 Coins and take at least eight hours. Then, all you need to do is mix any Concoction in the Saloon to finish this Goal (however, most drinks in the Saloon require the help of friends), which will reward you with yet another 250 XP and 250 Coins.

Part IV:  Giddyap!

  -  Compete in 5 Barrel Races
  -  Feed 5 Neighbor Horses
  -  Collect 3 Rodeo Arena Bonuses

In order to finish this Goal, you must complete the Rodeo Arena, which is a new building that released with this set of Goals. Though, you also must visit your friends and feed five of their Horses. Completing this fourth and final Goal will reward you with--surprise!--250 Coins, 250 XP and a Midnight Bronco, a new Horse to ride in the Rodeo Arena.

FrontierVille Reveals Part of the Beaver Valley

The Wild Lupine is bloomin’, the wind is whistlin’ through the hickory trees, and the wild turkey are, well, wild! Beaver Valley is beautiful this time of year! Soon you can hit the Pioneer Trail and see fer yerself! This was FrontierVille’s latest sneak peek towards the Pioneer Trail that is soon to come. 

You can seen that in this photo there is a great Stream or Creek that flows down Beaver Valley, the first real name to come to part of the Pioneer Trail. You may remember we showed you a sneak peak of the Pioneer Trail map that was also show by FrontierVille. This is starting to look really interesting and I cannot wait to possibly hunt those Wild Turkey!

In another update from the FrontierVille Fan Page shows another image of the Creek and reads “The creeks in Beaver Valley are burstin’ with crawdads! Yer hunter can rustle up meat fer bait, and yer handy carpenter can build a trap to nab ‘em! Be sure to get plenty o’ hot sauce and invite yer friends to squeeze the tails and suck the heads!

This was posted a short time ago on the FrontierVille Fan Page,  “Go West, youngins, and discover a whole new world of adventure on the Pioneer Trail! FrontierVille Mission: The Pioneer Camp

Howdy folks! FrontierVille and Zynga are slowly releasing the Pioneer Campsite! The Pioneer Campsite will serve as a resting point for some travelers that could be showing up on your homestead. Check out the Pioneer Camp Missions post to know who's these visitors are:

 

As you can see on the image, it looks like some travelers will be stopping by our Homesteads.  Upon placing the Pioneer Camp on your homestead you will need to collect some parts to complete its construction:

FrontierVille Mission: Plannin' the Big Day

Howdy folks! A short while ago word broke that Hank and Fanny were looking to get hitched, and this week, FrontierVille’s favorite love saga continues! It seems like it will be only a matter of time before Hank and Fanny decided to tie the know, but first Fanny needs a dress! So, guess what you will be doing this week? You guessed it! It’s time to craft Fanny a big ‘ole fancy dress for her big day! This weeks update will closely follow the format of the Love is in the Air release, but be sure to pay special attention to where each item can be obtained from! It is highly advised that you read the section below.

How it works?

Upon loading, Fanny will walk from the School House to the Weddin’ Wagon with an exclamation point over her head, which will trigger a dialog movie. At one point, you will be given the option ‘Okay’ and ‘Maybe Later’. Selecting Okay will give you the missions. Maybe Later will send Fanny back to the School House. Now, clicking upon the Weddin’ Wagon will give you the Wedding Store option. Here you can buy two Animals and Decorations with Wedding Presents. You will want to purchase the Dressform which will allow you to craft Fanny’s Dress. Clicking on the Dressform and choosing ‘Sewing Basket’ will cause the crafting screen to appear. Please refer to the ‘Where to obtain items’ section for more crafting information.

FrontierVille Missions: FrontierVille’s 1 Year Anniversary

Howdy folks! It’s time to celebrate FrontierVille’s 1 Year Anniversary with 3 Limited Edition Missions! Although some people may not be celebrating over the requirements for these missions. The first mission will utilize your SPOUSE, so be sure you have your Spouse selected when working on this mission.

The second mission requires to tend Kobe Cows and if your neighbors don’t have any Kobe Cows, you will need to buzz on over to Jack’s homestead as he will have some to tend. The third mission screenshot is bugged, the actual requirements are 10 Anniversary Presents and the unlock is really not 1 Horseshoe. How To Increase iPhone Battery Life

“Battery life” means the time your iPhone will run before it must be recharged. iPhone works best from 32° to 95° F.   Keeping your iPhone as near room temperature as possible (72° F or 22° C) is ideal.

Know Your Usage Statistics

You can view your iPhone usage statistics by tapping the Settings icon on the Home screen and choosing General > Usage. Under the “Time since last full charge” heading you’ll see two items:

Usage: Amount of time iPhone has been awake and in use since the last full charge. 

Standby: Amount of time iPhone has been powered on since its last full charge.

Keep Your Software Updated

Always make sure your iPhone has the latest software from Apple.  There may be updates on battery performance.

Check Your iPhone Settings

Configure iPhone feature settings.  Here are some tips that may help extend your battery life.

•    Always turn off your Wi-Fi if you do not need its service to save power. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and set Wi-Fi to Off. However, use of Wi-Fi instead conserves more power than use of cellular data networks.

•    Turn off Bluetooth headset or car kit to save power. Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and set Bluetooth to Off.

•    Adjust brightness: Dimming the screen is a way to extend battery life. Go to Settings > Brightness and drag the slider to the left to lower the default screen brightness. Turn on Auto-Brightness to allow the screen adjust its brightness based on current lighting conditions. Go to Settings > Brightness and set Auto-Brightness to On.

•    Minimize use of third-party applications: Use of applications such as games and viewing videos prevents the screen from dimming, thus reduces battery life.

•    Use Airplane Mode in low- or no-coverage areas: iPhone always tries to maintain a connection with the cellular network, thus uses more power in low- or no-coverage areas. Turning on the Airplane Mode can increase battery life in these situations.  Please note that you will be unable to make or receive calls during Airplane Mode.

Lock Your iPhone

Lock your iPhone when you aren’t using it. Calls and text messages still are still viable while it is locked.  To lock iPhone, press the Sleep/Wake button.

Steve Jobs Unveils iCloud Digital Hub

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs unveiled a free digital hub called iCloud on Monday that allows users to store music, photos and other content on the Internet and access it on multiple devices.

Jobs and other Apple executives also introduced the next generation of Lion, the software that powers Macintosh computers, and iOS 5, the latest mobile operating system for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

"Some people think the cloud is just a hard disk in the sky," Jobs told software developers at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference at San Francisco's Moscone Center.

"We think it's way more than that, and we call it iCloud," said Jobs, who was making just his second public appearance since going on medical leave in January.

Jobs said iCloud would eliminate the need to transfer music, documents, photos and other content stored on hard drives to other devices.

"Keeping these devices in sync is driving us crazy," he said to cheers from the audience. "We've got a great solution for this problem, and we think the solution is our next big insight.

"We're going to demote the PC to just being a device," he said. "iCloud stores your content in the cloud and automatically pushes it to all your devices.

"We're going to move the digital hub in the cloud," he said.

Jobs said music, for example, would automatically get pushed to all devices. "This is the first time we've seen this in the music industry -- no charge for multiple downloads to different devices," he said.

Photos taken on any device are stored on Apple servers and can be downloaded to any other device using the Photostream application.

"We're making it free, and we're really excited about it," Jobs said.

Jobs said content stored on Apple servers would be backed up once daily. "If you ever lose your phone, get a new phone, type in your user name and password and everything will be there," he said.

Jobs, who has been on medical leave since January with an undisclosed ailment, took the stage to a standing ovation shortly after the music sound system at the Moscone Center blared out the James Brown hit "I Feel Good."

"Thank you, that always helps," said Jobs, who was dressed in his trademark black pullover and blue jeans.

Jobs, a pancreatic cancer survivor who underwent a liver transplant two years ago, appeared thin but relatively healthy in his first public appearance since March, when he unveiled the iPad 2.

Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller took the stage from Jobs to demonstrate features in the next generation of Lion.

One feature called "air drop" allows Macintosh users to exchange files with other nearby Mac users through a peer-to-peer Wifi-based network.

Lion will be available as a download in July for $29.99, considerably cheaper than the $129 charged for previous upgrades.

Scott Forstall, senior vice president of iPhone software, announced details of iOS 5, the updated mobile operating system for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, and said it included more than 200 new features.

Forstall said Apple has sold more than 200 million iOS devices and more than 14 billion applications have been downloaded from Apple's App Store.

"In the first 14 months, we have already sold more than 25 million iPads," he said.

Forstall also said a personal computer would no longer be needed to set up and activate an iPad and software updates are delivered over the air.

"With the new iPad we're ushering in the post-PC world," he said. "Now if you want to cut the cord, you can."

FrontierVille and Zynga have just rolled out a new timed mission "Johnny Apple Seed Plants His Seed".  The mission must be accepted by June 25th and completed within 10 days of starting the mission. 

Here's the one-part mission to complete:

Top 25 Facebook Games for June 2011

New games make strong showings in our Facebook game leaderboards provided by our traffic tracking service, AppData. Going into June 2011, many of our top games in daily active users and monthly active users from May move down the list to make room.

We begin with the top 25 games by DAU, which gives us an idea of which games have the potential for highest retention rates when compared to a game’s MAU. This figure is vulnerable to sharp fluctuations in the short term as a result of ad campaigns or marketing and to external factors such as holidays or weekends when players may take a break from routine play.

Gardens of Time makes a splash here at number seven after debuting at number 16 last month. The game launched in early April and so far has maintained a healthy growth pattern that makes it a regular on our weekly top 20 lists of fastest-growing games by both DAU and MAU. Interestingly, FarmVille saw a slight loss in DAU this month despite an extensive Lady Gaga promotion toward the end of May that gave the game a temporary lift.

Next, we examine the top 25 Facebook games by MAU, which tells us which games have the largest potential reach. We also monitor MAU as an indicator of a game’s overall healt

h in the long term as the number tends to experience more gradual shifts than DAU.

Again, Gardens of Time draws attention with its debut on this list at number five, which puts it ahead of Zynga’s Café World and Mafia Wars. Monster Galaxy also turns up ahead of these titles thanks to a slow burn growth pattern that routinely puts it on our weekly top 20 fastest-growing games by MAU lists.
