Pioneer Trail Beaver Valley Missions Bug Report

Are you one of the thousands of other Pioneer Trail players stuck at the end of Beaver Valley trying to find the last hidden mission in the section? The Turkeys Gone Wild mission, is supposed to be triggered by a blue exclamation point, just like the other missions, appearing over a turkey's head. The question is, where is that Turkey?

No one is sure where or how the turkey will show up. Check out Pioneer Trail's official forum and you'll find some users saying that they've found the turkey sitting at the very beginning of Beaver Valley, where you first started out.  I am sure that if you have not found this sitting turkey there, you'll end up spending dozens of Rations chopping down trees, clearing debris, harvesting berries just to bring that turkey out. And if you thought that you are not lucky enough to find one, then here's what you're going to do.

The only way for this issue to be corrected is to write Zynga Customer Support.  You may also contact them through their Live Chat service on their website. Or if you don't want to do either of these, then wait until the game can be fixed.

Goodtimes!

Pioneer Trail Hidden Missions

Are you wondering how to get all those hidden missions while travelin' down The Pioneer Trail? Well, look no further. This guide will explain what to look for and what you have to do to get all those pesky hidden missions to show themselves.

First things first. Make sure you don't have some hiding already. Hidden missions will appear as a little blue exclamation (!) mark. There are many things a mission can appear over (animals, trees, crops & more!)

When you first start out in Beaver Valley and High Plains, you won't have any hidden missions yet. Hidden missions spawn only in certain conditions:

You MUST complete a certain mission and/or mission set.
Once #1 is met, you MUST do one or more actions with any of your Trail Crew members.

When you do one of these actions with your main character, there is a random chance that one of the hidden missions will pop out someplace nearby on the map. Note that, for instance, Beaver Valley has a total of eight hidden missions, but you can't get them all at once, or in the same area. You have to progress down the trail to unlock the ability to attain new hidden missions.

Below is a list of all the hidden missions in Beaver Valley & High Plains and the hidden missions that will be available once the conditions described above are met:

Beaver Valley

Finishing Travails of a Travelin' Trader allows you to get:
BlackBerry Pickin' - Appears over a blackberry bush
Case of the Curious Torticoon - Appears over a torticoon

Finishing Blazin' Campfire allows you to get:
Purdy, Purdy Pignuts - Appears over an owl tree

Finishing Dysentery Danger allows you to get:
Lost Lil' Bucky - Appears over a baby beaver by the river
Missin' Home - Appears over a wild lupine bush
Who Wants Pie - Appears over a pecan tree

Finishing Who Wants Gumbo Stew? allows you to get:
Turkeys Gone Wild - Appears over a turkey
Cajun Crawdad Boil - Appears over a crawdad trap

High Plains

Finishing Dust Bowl Disaster I (Pickin' Up The Pieces) allows you to get:
Prairie Doggin' - Appears over a prairie dog burrow
Wild Rice & Persimmon Pudding - Appears over a persimmon tree

Finishing Well Wishes I (The McBaggins Well) allows you to get:
Stockin' Up the McBaggins Homestead - Appears over a lavender plant
Stockin' the Root Cellar - Appears over a wild rice crop

Finishing Critter Homes I (Not The Sheep, Pa) allows you to get:
Skunkadillo Rumors - Appears over a skunkadillo

Finishing Giant Raging Inferno allows you to get:
Gifts for Back Home - Appears over a wild strawberry crop

Good luck in your search for all the hidden missions. They're out there just waiting on you to find them!

Pioneer Trail: Rations General FAQ

Howdy Pioneers,

While out on the trail, you will depend on rations to perform the actions required to progress. This is going to work a little different than energy does back on the homestead. One thing to keep in mind is, the Trail is not intended to be conquered all that fast! It's a long and treacherous journey to Fort Courage, with plenty of adventure and fun to keep you busy on the way.

What are Rations?

Rations are the energy source while out on the trail. They are limited and not as easy to come by as energy back on the homestead. Take your time and plan out your actions while on the trail. You can always pop back over to homestead and let your rations fillback up.

How do I get more Rations?

There are many ways to get rations out on the trail!

1- Rations will refill automatically over time (1 every 5 minutes), so if you run out you can just keep yourself busy on homestead while they fill up.

2- When your crew mates visit your trail, you get +5 rations!

3- They can also be obtained from friends by posting requests to your friends!

4- You can purchase them for Horseshoes from Trader Bart.

When you run out of rations you will see the following pop up-

How do I use rations in my inventory?

Along the way you may obtain rations and refills that will end up in your wagon inventory. To get to your wagon inventory, click on the Wagon and go into the Inventory. *You can also click on "my stuff" in the bottom right and navigate to your inventory there. Keep in mind, while you're out on the trail, you can't access your inventory from homestead, so the items you need for out on the trail will only go in your inventory.

How many rations can I use on the Trail?

How many rations you can use on the trail depends on 2 factors:
1- You can only hold as many rations as you have room for in your wagon. So when you obtain ration's, you will go into your wagon inventory to use them.

2- The more crew you add, the more rations you get! You start off with a cap of 10 rations. Each crew member you staff, adds another +5 to your ration cap. So if you staff 1 friend, you'll get a 15 ration max (10+5), if you staff 3, you'll have 25 (10+5+5+5)!

3- Visiting Friends will give you friends as well, so when your trail mates visit you, you'll get a +5

NOTE:

When you get a +1, +5 or +10 Ration (like purchased at Trader Bart's wagon), those will add to your ration count immediately. You will not be able to use more, if you're over your cap!

FrontierVille Pioneer Trail Tips: Where did my friends go?

FrontierVille's Pioneer Trail, or better known now as simply Pioneer Trail, has plenty of you confused over just what happened to your friends when you made the transition to the new game. Have your old friends who haven't come over yet been left behind? What about while you're on the trail--can you interact with friends other than those you hired?

A lot of headlines we've seen circulating the web have made claims that this new game limits the amount of friends you can play with, and that's simply not the case. (At least it won't be once all of your friends join the new app.) So, here's a breakdown of exactly how The Pioneer Trail has and will affect your friendships in the game.

On the Pioneer Trail:
Embarking on the Pioneer Trail allows players to make better use out of their most dedicated and reliable friends. Each time you play through the Pioneer Trail maps to Fort Courage, you're strongly encouraged to choose three friends to fill the roles of Hunter, Carpenter and Doctor during your travels. While this does increase your maximum Rations (the Energy-like resource on the Pioneer Trail), it's also up to your friends to visit you on the Trail to refill your Rations and do you general or specific favors.

My Jobs

When you're elected as part of a friend's trail team, you can (and should) do the same. Visiting a friend on the Trail is much like visiting a friend's homestead--you're given five free actions to partake in. However, after you've completed those favors, you can choose the reward you're given from your Trail Boss, or the player whom you're visiting, from Meat to Prize Tickets. (Visiting friends also refills your Rations a bit.)

You can visit your friends on the Trail through the "My Jobs" button below the "Travel" button three times daily, though you can only help them every few hours. However, you can fill a role in several friends' teams. For instance, you can be the Hunter in both Bobby Sue's Trail team and Billy Joe's Trail team, but you can only fill one role per team.

Off the Pioneer Trail:
Many players are reporting that they've yet to see their friends appear in their Neighbor Bars on the homestead. This is because those friends have yet to make the transition to the Pioneer Trail app. Because the game is a brand new app, Pioneer Trail will only recognize your friends who have come over to the new app.

At this point, Zynga seems to have made it so players do not have a choice but enter the new Pioneer Trail game, so it's only a matter of time before all of your friends will be on board. Once your friends make the transition, it should be possible again for you to visit those friends and vise versa. Speaking of which...

Pioneer Trail Crew Jobs

Visiting Friends:

To be clear, you can only visit your friends on the Pioneer Trail with whom you have a role in their team. This is done by pressing the "My Jobs" button beneath the "Travel" button. (The more roles you take on for friends, the more friends you can visit on their Trails.) To visit your friends' homesteads like normal, just click on their portraits like you usually do--however this can only be done while you're on your own homestead.

So, The Pioneer Trail does not limit the friends you can play with, as long as they too have installed the new game. Again: You can only visit friends on their homesteads from your own homestead. You can visit your friends on the Trail at any time from the "My Jobs" button, but only those with which you have roles.

Invite Friends Pioneer Trail
A Known Issue:
This is probably the most confusing aspect of the new game thus far. When requesting friends to become members of your Trail team, or even just to send friends Gifts in general, the list of friends that appears does not differentiate your Pioneer Trail friends from your friends in other games or otherwise. (You can send friends Gifts regardless of whether you're a part of their Trail team.)

For instance, when you want to add friends to your new Trail team, the menu for adding friends doesn't just show those who have installed the Pioneer Trail, but all of your Facebook friends. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon, as this is what's looking to cause the most confusion overall.

FrontierVille Mission: The Dog-less Shepherd

If you're still reeling from the Newlywed Newbies Goal in FrontierVille, this otherwise good news might be a doozy. Zynga will soon release yet another Timed Goal, titled "The Dog-less Shepherd." This looks to be part of an ongoing series of Timed Goals that will be stymied across a period of time.

This Goal, like the first in this new series, seems as if you'll have to accept it by Aug. 31. However, this information is early, and details are subject to change before this content is released. Enough with the disclaimers and onto the good stuff:

The Dog-less Shepherd:

  • Clear 30 Grass on a Neighbor's Homestead
  • Collect 10 Doggie Toys
  • Collect 10 Doggie Treats

FrontierVille Dogless Shepherd
Since there should be no need to explain how to clear Grass (Hint: You click on it), let's move along. The 10 Doggie Toys, if the previous Goal in this series is any indication, will be collected through individual help requests sent to friends. Doggie Treats, on the other hand, will likely be found through general News Feed posts. Both options read as "Ask Friends" on the Goal menu, so it can get confusing. For completing this Goal, you'll score 10 Chunky Chow for your Old Dog, 400 XP and 300 Coins.

FrontierVille Mission: The Amazing Grain Silo

frontierville grain silo

Say goodbye to withered crops, pioneers. Zynga will soon release the Amazing Grain Silo in FrontierVille, a brand new building that will provide players with Unwither and Wither Protection Boosts through its Daily Bonus. (And that's not a typo.)

The new feature, which will require players to ask for materials from friends like all new buildings, will come with a duo of Goals. These Goals will guide players through the process of creating this building that sounds too good to be true. Well, it is, and let's get on with it:

FrontierVille Grain Silo1. A Grain Idea
  • Place the Grain Silo
  • Clean 12 Debris on your homestead
  • Harvest 25 Flax

To place the Grain Silo, purchase it from the Market for 2,500 Coins and 20 Wood, and just throw it any old place. To harvest 25 Flax, you'll need 3,750 Coins and at least eight hours for them to ripen. Your reward for completing this simple Goal is 500 XP and a Pink Rose Ready Boost.

2. Serious About Silos
  • Tend 15 Neighbor Crops
  • Harvest 25 Blue Corn
  • Collect 10 Silo Tarps

Blue Corn is a brand new crop to FrontierVille, and will cost a total of 5,700 Coins and take 12 hours to ripen. Better yet, each harvest of Blue Corn rewards players with 376 Coins, five Food and 18 XP. However, you may need to complete the Grain Silo to unlock this crop. To finish the Grain Silo after you whack it a few times using Energy and Wood you will need to request the following items from your friends:

Finish the Grain Silo
  • 10 Silo beams
  • 10 Roof Tile
  • 10 Silo Ladder
  • 15 Hopper
  • 15 Stone Siding
  • 15 Silo Crate

Like most feature-rich buildings in the game, we imagine that the first three items will be asked for directly from friends, while the latter three will simply post News Feeds for players to respond to.

Once this is finished, the Blue Corn crop should unlock. The 10 Silo Tarps for the Goal look to be another item requested from friends. For finishing this Goal, you'll score 800 XP and a Queasy Chicken.

FrontierVille Mission: The Horse Tamer's Calling

FrontierVille A Horse Tamer's Calling

Zyna has released another Time Goal to FrontierVille, titled "A Horse Tamer's Calling." The mission must be accepted by Aug. 31.  We have 7 days to meet the tasks required.

A Horse Tamer's Calling

  • Harvest 20 Apple Trees
  • Collect 20 Training Ropes
  • Collect 20 Training Saddle
