Like most farming games on Facebook, planting crops in FrontierVille is one of the best way to earn not only coins, but experience and food as well.
It is an easy task and requires no energy to do the planting. Just make sure to come back before they wither. Withered crops requires also no energy upon clearing them, but I bet, you too will get bored doing it as it takes longer time clearing them than harvesting.
What I do is to wait for my good neighbors to revive them, and as soon as I come back on my homestead, some are ready again for harvest.
