This tutorial will guide you on how to transfer contacts to a new iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS from your old GSM phone using its SIM card.
- Remove the SIM card from your iPhone and replace it with the SIM card from your old phone.
- Your phone may need to reactivate. If so, connect to iTunes.
- Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; Import SIM Contacts.
- Remove your old SIM card from your new iPhone and reinstall your new SIM card.
Note that iPhone 4 (GSM model) uses a micro-SIM card; a regular SIM card will not fit. If you are using an iPhone 4 (CDMA model), you will need to use iTunes to transfer your information, as it doesn't have a SIM card.
