Reckoning it's about time you replaced that copy of Windows 8 Consumer Preview? Microsoft is right there with you. According to the outfit's Building Windows 8 Twitter account, the next major installment of Win8 is due out in "the first week of June," with the Windows 8 Release Preview to hit the intertubes at that time. Go ahead and take off the whole week in preparation -- we're sure you can think of a few DIY activities to bide your time in the event of a Friday release. (Oh, and in case you're wondering, this is just yet another step in the march to a hopeful October ship date for the final build of Windows 8.)

DNSChanger: FBI Warns Infected Computers Will Lose Web, Email Access in July

There’s a story circulating that if you don’t ensure your computer is malware-free by July 9, 2012, the FBI will shut off your access to the Internet. Like most such alarmist claims, it’s only partly true, though if you’re a Windows or Mac user, you’ll want to pay attention.

The original story dates back to 2007, when a group of cyber-ne’er-do-wells launched malware dubbed “DNSChanger,” infecting millions of computers in hundreds of countries with code that allowed them to manipulate the way Internet ads appear in browsers, ultimately racking up millions in illicit fees.

ConsolidationVille Coming to Social Games Market in 2012

Even more social game consolidation is coming this year.

And, here’s the reason why: There are hundreds of game companies competing on Facebook, and Zynga is single-handedly grabbing 15 percent of all the revenues.

A report published by Digi-Capital, an investment bank focused on video games, says this year will be a strong one for consolidation based on the number of discussions it is having with investors and management teams.

The bankers said the catalyst for the consolidation is either lack of revenues or profitability or both. The report said that Zynga, Wooga, King, Electronic Arts and Peak Games are all doing well, but as you get further down the list, many others are struggling to gain momentum.

Meanwhile, the leaders in the space, and particularly Zynga, are constantly having to come up with new games to keep their user base engaged, which is good news for companies that have strong games or teams and are looking for a buyer.

In the first quarter of 2012, Digi-Capital reports, 30 deals closed across all game sectors for a total value of $1.7 billion. In particular, casual, social, mobile and massively multiplayer online games were in demand.

In 2011, a total of 113 games transactions took place, for a total value of $3.4 billion.

Zynga, which recently spent $180 million to acquire OMGPOP, said it is looking to purchase more companies — and has deep pockets to do it. Besides the leading social games company, the report noted that other companies looking acquire or invest are from China and South Korea. They are specifically interested in social, mobile or other free-to-play games in domestic and international markets.

Zynga announced today the new Fast Load feature to their games.  Fast Load promises a quicker and easier game loading.  It remembers exactly where you left off the last game you played.

Step by Step Guide: Build!

1. Once you have reached Level 1 and have an already built Warehouse you will see the following quest icon and receive the quest to increase your storage.

3. To store more in your Warehouse. Click on the Warehouse in your City. This will open up the following menu. Note: This will allow you to complete all other actions while you have your storage menu open.
   
   
   
4. Click on the Arrow above and it will expand itself to show you the items you are currently storing. Note: Your items will now be categorize
