Microsoft Launches Online Answer Desk Troubleshooting Service


Microsoft AnswerDesk.com today is now live!  This is premium service available on demand 24/7 that helps connect ’Answer Techs’ with customers who need help diagnosing and troubleshooting their Microsoft software related issues.

Microsoft has no official announcement on this new service but the website went online December 7, 2011.  Users connect with Microsoft "Answer Techs" to get help that falls into four categories: Premium Software Support, Advanced PC Tune-up, Virus Protection and Removal, and One-hour Personal Training.

There will be basic troubleshooting and the diagnosis is free, but if the reported problem was not resolved, it'll cost you around $49 to $99 for approximately 60 to 120 minutes of support.

This service is somewhat the same or is modeled after similar help desks at Microsoft's retail stores and the Apple's Genius Bar.

The site is restricted to US visitors only.  Let's see if Microsoft AnswerDesk.com will be available to other countries soon.
